Welcome

Parental engagement is proposed by governments as one of the key aspects of raising student achievement and well-being and this is supported by over 40 years of research.

Research in the United States of America (USA), Australia and United Kingdom suggests that when families of all backgrounds are engaged in their children’s learning, their children tend to do better in school, stay in school longer, and pursue higher education (Berthelsen & Walker, 2008; Harris & Goodall, 2008; Henderson & Mapp, 2002).

It has now been explicitly stated in both the Australian Professional Standards
for Principals and Australian Professional Standards
for Teachers.
